Company Golf Outing

hole #11
How shameful of me to be in the golf industry, yet it took me THIS long to finally learn to play golf. My coworkers were very patient, nice and supportive. I can finally say I know how to play golf! :)

Thank God it was such a bright nice sunny day. I finally understand why executives like to go golfing... it is really nice getting outside the office and seeing so much green and open spaces... the scenery really relaxes the eyes and your body. And yes, that's how the scenery looked like but more beautiful.

progressing at hole #13
I had no idea Golfing can be so tiring... the next day, I was literally sore all over, I could hardly move... my thighs, shoulders were so sore... when did I even use them during golf? I can't say I have fallen in love with golf, but certainly it was an experience worth remembering.

My 26 Birthday!

how thoughtful of Google

Happy Birthday to me~

I am so thankful for all the wonderful birthday wishes I received from Whatsapp, Facebook, in person and text messages, etc. I feel so blessed to have so many friends and family who give me their best wishes.

I feel so happy that my birthday is once again so close to Mid-Autumn Festival. So Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to those who celebrate it! :) 中秋節快樂!!!

Last year, I experienced a lot of events which have changed and shaped me and the way I think. Every day I continue to grow and improve to become a better me. I know that there is still lots to improve and the journey isn't getting easier. I look forward to growing with you.

I am actually looking forward to this year! I know it will be a great year filled with opportunities to improve and love.

TTC breakfast

photo credits: http://life.nationalpost.com/2013/06/03/dunkin-donuts-launches-new-doughnut-breakfast-sandwich-fried-eggs-and-bacon-between-a-split-glazed/

Last week I saw a girl on the TTC eating her breakfast as if she were trying to murder it. I can't unsee that scene anymore... I wonder what did her breakfast do to her that she had to eat it with such infuriation?

highlighting :D

I almost forgot just how much I love highlighting... love the sound, the colours and the feel... I'm obsessed. I still remember the moment I got my first highlighter when I was 8 years old. Once I was introduced to what "highlighting" was, the way my notes looked forever changed.

Today, I was given 2 highlighters, I literally went though all my notes to see where and what I can highlight... :P I missed my old highlighter friends! :D

I do have a pet peeve for certain highlighting bad habits:
  • I hate when the tip goes off track and my "perfect" line is messed up (you need to concentrate and have a very steady hand/arm)
  • I hate layering highlights and I hate over highlighting
  • I can't stand the look of a page if it is highlighted more than 50%
  • I hate when people use highlighters to colour (no matter what the colour is, I hate it)
  • I hate to use highlighters where the tip has already been overused and mushed up
  • I hate it when highlighters (especially yellow) gets old and they produce a non-highlighting yellow colour
  • I hate when a highlighter's color prevents the text from being visible
  • And finally, I hate when highlighters smudge the text under.

Speaking of highlighting, who shares my obsession? Or should I ask, who is as serious about highlighting as I am?

What's in your coat pocket?

It has been a very harsh week to remind us not only has school started but so has Autumn. That means it's time for my old coats and jackets to come out of the closet.

I don't know about you but I always find it so fascinating how there are so many things you can discover in your pockets: useful things like coins (Pennies, Nickels and quarters), paper clips, unused wet towels, pens, mittens and gloves etc, and no so useful things like old tissues (eww), old business cards, public transit tickets, receipts and candy wrappers.

It's actually kind of fun going though what you have, your coat pocket is sort of like a time capsule, when you find things in it, it reminds you of what you did last Autumn/Winter.... see what you find this Autumn/Winter ;)

Green Roses?

When I was a kid, I used to laugh at green flowers... how can green flowers be possible? wouldn't they look like their stems?

today, while walking to work, I saw these with my very own eyes, they are very beautiful. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture, I was rushing to work and this image wasn't able to capture their beauty very well... when you see those green roses, you will know what I mean. For now, let me rant on with a vague description (in point form)

- very distinctively green
- silky/pastel colour
- very eye catching

So.. it is official, the next Android version (4.4) will be called Kit Kat! My first thought was "weren't they going to name it key lime pie?"

Just trying to run through their name orders: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and Kit kat...

things are getting serious with Android! let it be sweet!  >:D
