Happy Birthday to me!

 What an interesting year it has been! Lots of ups and downs, but by God's grace, it was all great! :D

Thank God for His Grace and Mercy, I was able to have a wonderful, challenging, but blessed year  :D

Can't wait to see what this new year holds! Hopefully more ups! (I could just feel it :D)

I ordered one of my favourite Hainanese chicken dishes with rice... (I tried to edit out a smudge, but it made the edge of the dish flat >___< editing gone wrong... hahaha)

I also ordered a Western Fried Rice dish too :) - editing not needed here :P

These Old Dutch "Popcorn" twists are very nostalgic to me... they aren't "real" popcorn, but they contain corn... I remember having these quite often as a kid.

Niigata is home to the top rice fields in Japan... so I'm so excited to try these rice crackers made from Niigata rice! :D

mahjong set from Costco

 

Mahjong from Costco

Our family lost our old handmade Mahjong tile set from Hong Kong and was looking for a replacement.

I found this Mahjong set from Costco! :D It was only $99.99 CAD... the tiles are standard size... the only difference is that they don't have the red中 or green發 (both are replaced by a red dragon and green dragon). They also have extra tiles called "Joker". (which brings the total number of tiles from 144 to 160). 

I haven't had the opportunity to play Mahjong, yet... but these look promising :)

One down side is that they don't come with the chips (for counting the wins and losses)

Ever so often, I crave these Humpty Dumpty Cheese Sticks, these are the Canadian version of "Cheetos" :) The cheese tastes closer to real cheese than Cheetos :)
