Sazerac House in New Orleans

Sazerac House

We got carded at this place! :D (yeah! lol)

Sazerac House was one of the first places that caught my eye when I researched about things to do and places to go in New Orleans. Since it is literally a stone's throw away from our hotel we knew we had to go. (disclaimer, if you want to go on their tour, which you should, you will need to make a reservation in advance on their website.)

Sazerac House

Sazerac House belongs to the company that founded Sazerac Cocktail, which is a cocktail native to New Orleans. It is the official cocktail of New Orleans. Their products continue, and over the years, they have expanded and developed many other cocktails.

you can see how excited we were with this display :)

the first "bar"

We were able to sample the ingredients used in the various types of cocktails

this was a lot interesting than it looks :)

We learned about the family behind Sazerac House.

Mark Twain's quotes could be found all over the museum.

I highly recommend this tour. Sazerac House's history is intertwined with New Orleans's history. I learned about the city and the company. Both were fascinating. Cocktails and alcohol played a huge role in New Orlean's history and economic development.

This was quite nice :) Aside from cognac, rum is also one of their main products.
