checked in and passed customs

There are quite a lot of shops in both terminals at MSY (Louis Armstrong International Airport), but I prefer the international terminal's selection. Unfortunately, since I was flying to Chicago, I was heading to the Domestic terminal.

I was catching up on Pastor Joel Osteen's twitter words of wisdom

My luggage :) I had to take a picture because I was checking it in.

Waiting at the terminal.

Waiting for my plane to arrive :)

journey to the airport

I thought I would also include the journey back home (since there were quite a few interesting things that happened along the way :) )

The landscape looked quite different after we left downtown.

arrived at the airport!

I took this pic for future reference so I know what luggage to get :)

The people were very helpful at the check-in counter :)

outside the hotel

I took these last photos of our hotel while waiting for my Lyft to arrive. The sky was gloomy, kinda like my mood :(

hotel keys

I probably didn't mention this in my previous posts, but one of the things I WILL NOT BE MISSING are these HOTEL KEYS! They only work once and we had to get new ones (or old ones reset) after ONE USE!

>____< that was quite annoying especially after a long night out, where we have to go back to the lobby to get them fixed :(.

GOODBYE KEYS!

candid pictures of our hotel room

The heater was way too drying... which affected my sinuses... this is one of the things I will not be missing :( (the tissues, kleenex (whatever you call them) on the nightstand is evidence of my sinuses having a hard time coping)

view from my bed <3

packing up and getting ready to leave

bye room :(

heading out :(

I will miss this entrance :(

girls night :)

Aerin had to leave the hotel at around 4:30am, so we ended up chatting and staying up till 3:00am!

We couldn't believe our trip was over :(.

I woke up to this alert (thankfully it didn't affect my travel plans.

Canal Street

After a music-filled night, it is time to head back to the hotel :(... I'm going to miss this intersection. (it is a strange intersection because the traffic lights are not aligned with each other, there are 3 sets of lights and each has its own set of rules for example, just because it is a green light on the first light, the second set might be red, while the third set might be green)

Fritzel's European Jazz Pub

After our dinner adventure, it was time for some jazz! We chose Fritzel's European Jazz Pub.

This night, The All Star Band and Kevin Clark are performing. At the encore, they played "It's Wonderful World". What a perfect way to end our trip.

What a cute lamp that looks like a trumpet :)

We ended up staying here for 2+ hours :D.

Day 7 dinner: Acme's

Yes! So we decided to go back to Acme's Oyster House because the oysters were THAT good <3

We ended up ordering two dozen of oysters <3... These are the best oysters in the world <3
We had so much fun chatting and laughing :). We ended up staying for quite a long time (we stayed still they had to clean up and close!)

We took pictures with the master chef :)

back to the streets

We were either a bit drunk, or this was cute/funny. I thought it was weird they put such a round object where it could easily fall and roll away.

Bar Tonique

We decided to go to Bar Tonique after :D... This is our favourite bar :)

This was what I ordered. Champagne Cocktail.

One last look at the menu. I can't wait to be back again.

Aerin's mandatory restroom selfie :)

Mississippi at night

We ended up walking to Jackson's Square (see the cathedral one last time) and walked to the port/harbour of the Mississippi. There was jazz music. It was super windy

I'm going to miss New Orleans :(

walking around the French Quarters one last time

this is such an adorable oyster

We wanted to make the most out of it, so we spent one last time roaming the streets of the French Quarter

I don't know what these stickers are for.

These are pictures from Aerin's phone

We were impressed by their creativity in reusing oyster shells
