Having lived in Toronto my whole life, I was a bit embarrassed to learn from one of my students who travelled to Toronto that you can take a train from Union Station to Niagara Falls (Niagara Station)!... I always thought there were some bus tours... but I had no idea you could hop on a VIA train and go to Niagara Falls... :O
